Bienvenue à Paris and to 16 rue de Liège, 75009.
Built between 1851 and 1914, this apartment has its quirks! How to get in and out of the building, the small elevator made for maximum 2 people and light switches that connect to outlets, not lights. So here is a guide to all of those little things in the apartment!

The code to the building is 35804 - you will walk to the very back of the building to the left, building C, the green fob is for this second door. The apartment is on the 3rd floor to the left (european terms) or the 4th floor in North American terms. So you would press 3 on the elevator.
You will have 1 set of keys for the apartment.
Push the key all the way in and turn to the right to unlock. PLEASE NOTE: WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR, IT LOCKS BEHIND YOU. ALWAYS CHECK THAT YOU HAVE YOUR KEYS BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Even though the door locks behind you, please deadbolt it when you leave for extra security.
When leaving the building, there is a small button that says 'porte' on it, you will need to press this to open the door to leave. When exiting the big front doors, there is another small button that looks like an old doorbell that also says porte, and that will also open the doors to let you out.

This small but mighty kitchen is equipped with an oven, gas burners, a full size (european) fridge, a nespresso machine, sodastream, fully equipped with pots and pans located above the fridge and a half size dishwasher, but nevertheless, there's a dishwasher!
Everything in the kitchen is fairly self-explanatory - there are dishwasher tablets under the sink along with some cleaning supplies.
Anything left in the kitchen is free for your use, but we do ask that if you finish something, please replace it. If something looks like a specialty item, please respect that maybe it would be difficult to replace!
The burners are quite powerful, so I would recommend using the smallest, the most front right burner for most things.
The fridge will also sometimes make a noise, unfortunately nothing to do to stop it, but it is normal for this old fridge!
HEATING:
Here is where the boiler is as well, which controls the heating. It is gas heating, and quite expensive, so please remember to turn it off when you leave for the day. In the evenings, we recommend turning it on to level 3 for a couple of hours to warm up the apartment, and then shutting it off before bed. If it is particularly cold, turn it down to level 2 if you wish to sleep with it on. We also have extra duvets that can be found in the pullout couch.

The wine glasses are located on the back wall, there are napkins in the top right cupboard, every other cupboard is used for random storage and you most likely will not need to access them. There is a vacuum on the bottom far left cupboard if needed. There is also a dustpan in the kitchen behind the door.
The light in the dining room is located at the back of the room under the shelves to the left, it plugs in to turn on.

The living room lamp is connected to the left switch to the left when you first walk in the room. It turns the outlet on and off. If you want to use the power bar and not the light, you can turn off the light with the black button located next to the power bar and the couch.
No, the fireplace does not work, it's just a pretty face!
The couch does pullout, and there are sheets, pillows and a duvet found within the couch. There are also extra duvets in the colourful 'pouf' if needed.

My bedroom is the one that is connected to the bathroom, feel free to choose whichever bedroom you would prefer to sleep in!
My bedroom - the closet is a little finicky - I have left it in the position that it should stay in, as the doors can easily fall off the tracks.
Feel free to use the empty shelves on the right side of the closet, I have cleared it out for you.
There are extra sheets also stored in the drawers on the right side, along with all the extra towels.

There is a washing machine, feel free to use it. There is detergent pods to the left of the machine. The drying rack is located under my bed (the bedroom connected to the bathroom) We usually set it up in the dining room, and push the dining table to one side to make room for it.
The shower is a tad difficult, as most showers that aren't yours can be! The right nozzle controls the temperature to the right/up, makes it colder, to the left/down makes it warmer.
The left nozzle controls the shower head and the tub faucet. The button lets you switch between the two, down/right is the tub faucet and then up/left is to turn the shower head on. It might take a couple tries to figure out, but you should get the hang of it!
Feel free to use the shower gel and shampoo and conditioner left out.
Sometimes the bathroom door will be difficult, it is just because of the towel hooks, if it is being finicky, shift around the hooks until it closes.
There is a steamer under the left sink. The compartment needs to be filled up with water before use, if empty. There is also a hairdryer under the left sink.

Upon check out, you can leave the keys on the dining room table and assure that the door is closed behind you.
At the end of your stay, if you could dispose of your garbage before leaving, that would be much appreciated! There is a wood garbage door that is the second door on the left under the covered passage - There is a code to get in, C2863.
The green bins are for general garbage (including all organic waste, unfortunately not all buildings in Paris compost)
The yellow bins are recycling - paper and plastic
The white bins are for glass
We collect our recycling in a reusable bag that can be brought back up to the apartment after emptying.
